2016 Supplementary Paramedic Recruitment Campaign
Candidates that are successful in the recruitment competition are placed onto a panel and the HSE uses this panel to recruit new student paramedics as the positions become available. When the panel becomes exhausted, then the HSE run another recruitment competition.
Latest News
On 14th November 2016 the HSE National Recruitment Service launched a national supplementary recruitment campaign for Student Paramedics with the HSE National Ambulance Service. The closing date for this campaign is 6th December 2016 at 3pm. It is the intention of HBS National Recruitment to hold Stage 2 testing in Dublin week commencing 9th January 2017.

Overview of the Recruitment Process
The recruitment process comprises an online application form, aptitude tests and structured interviews.
Pre-entry Requirements
The recruitment campaigns are open to individuals who hold a C1 driving license and have passed the Leaving Certificate with 6 passes in the Leaving Certificate Examination Ordinary Level or Higher including Maths and a Science subject (i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science). 4 Progressive Stages
The recruitment process has 4 progressive stages:
Stage 1: Short online competency based application form (for more information please contact: applysupport@hse.ie)
Stage 2: Assessment Centre (supervised) – Verbal Evaluation and Logical Reasoning Testing (online). Please note that all documentation listed below at Stage 3 must be presented in its original form in order to gain entry to Stage 2 testing centre.
Stage 3: Eligibility Sift
- An original and a copy of their current, full, unendorsed C1 Driving Licence (front & back).
- Driving Licence printout from their Local Authority (must be from a recent date). For more information please visit: www.ndls.ie

- A printout of their notification from National Recruitment inviting them to attend the test
- 2 pencils & an eraser
Stage 4: Structured Interview
Minimum Age Eligibility
Applicants must be under 65 years of age on the first day of the month in which the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the office occurs.
